Lino Lakes Fire Department - Open Burn Permit

  2. OPEN BURNING PERMIT PROCESS:

    1. Obtain an Open Burning Permit application and Open Burning Informational handout online or at 7441 Lake Drive in the vestibule. 

    2. Complete the Open Burning Permit along with a scaled site plan showing burn location and safety plan prior to planned burn.

    3. Once approved, you will be contacted by a Fire Department representative for payment information and next steps. Burn permits are $50.00. Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted.

    FIRE SAFETY AND AIR QUALITY REQUIREMENTS PERMIT HOLDER AGREES TO: 

    • To keep this fire under control and to assume responsibility for all damages and costs that may result from burning done under this permit. 

    • Be on-site at all times and is responsible for ensuring the fire is completely out including all hot spots. 

    • Not to burn if there is a practical alternative method for disposal of the material such as chipping or composting. 

    • To use a clean burning device to start the fire. 

    • Not to conduct burning during any air quality alert. 

    • Not to burn paper or cardboard except as provided under Minnesota Statutes 17.135. 

    • To extinguish the fire immediately if this permit is revoked. 

    • To have this permit available at the burn site for inspection. 

    • That prevailing wind must be away from nearby occupied buildings. 

    • That fires not be allowed to smolder without flame. 

    • Burning is not allowed on Red Flag Days as determined by the Minnesota DNR. Please check the Minnesota DNA Website.

    • The permit holder must inform the Fire Division of any unintended property damage that occurs during the burn. 

    Applicant MUST notify Anoka County Dispatch at 763-427-1212 prior to initiating the burn. 

    ALL COSTS FROM THE RESPONSE OF EMERGENCY PERSONNEL ASSOCIATED WITH THIS BURN WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PERMIT HOLDER.

  8. This permit is valid for opening burning as allowed and specified in Minnesota Statutes 88.16 and 88.22, Minnesota State Fire Code and local ordinances. The permittee is granted permission to burn the above-described materials at the specified location during the dates and times listed above. I attest, by my signature, that I have read and will comply with the conditions of, and any attachments to this permit; and that I am the landowner or have permission to burn at the above location.

  9. Electronic Signature Agreement

    By checking the "I agree" box below, you agree and acknowledge that 1) your application will not be signed in the sense of a traditional paper document, 2) by signing in this alternate manner, you authorize your electronic signature to be valid and binding upon you to the same force and effect as a handwritten signature, and 3) you may still be required to provide a traditional signature at a later date.
