Aqua Fitness Instructor
Starting Wage - $21.00 - $25.00/hourly
The Aqua Fitness Instructor will teach aquatic exercise classes to The Rookery Activity Center participants. Under the direction of the Aquatic Supervisor, this position will promote health and wellness by providing fun and engaging exercise routines that are adaptable for all abilities.
Aquatic Lead
Starting Wage - $16.00 - $20.00/hourly
The Aquatics Lead will monitor, evaluate, and lead the operations of assigned aquatics program and facility areas in the Rookery Activity Center. Under the direction of the Aquatic Supervisor this position will be responsible for implementing aquatics programs, onsite supervision of aquatics facilities, onsite program evaluation, and performing aquatics safety and maintenance activities.
Child Watch Attendant
Starting Wage - $13.00 - $14.00/hourly
The Child Watch Attendant position will provide short-term childcare to children in The Nest Childcare Center in the Rookery Activity Center. Child watch is a service offered to members while they are using the activity center. This position will provide excellent customer service, check-in children, verify payment, maintain a safe environment, and oversee children by providing activities including crafts, games, storytelling, and music. Child watch serves children six months through eleven years of age. The Nest Childcare Center hours are Monday-Friday 7:45 am-12:15 pm and 3:30 pm-8:00 pm, Weekends 7:45 am – 12:15 pm.
Guest Services Representative
Starting Wage - $13.00 - $15.00/hourly
The Guest Services Representative position plays an active role in working with members and guests of the Rookery Activity Center. This position will be responsible for enrolling new members, cash handling, answering questions, directing members and guests, enforcing policies, and maintaining a clean and safe space.
Lifeguard
Starting Wage - $13.00 - $15.00/hourly
The Lifeguard is responsible for supervising the aquatics center to ensure the safety of members, guests, and program participants. Lifeguards will be responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are followed in multiple activities including but not limited to open swim, lap swim, aqua fitness, and swim lessons. No experience necessary, paid training will be provided through Ellis & Associates.
Manager on Duty
Starting Wage - $16.00 - $18.00/hourly
The MOD oversees all operations at The Rookery during evening, weekend, and potential holiday hours. The MOD will give work direction and support to other Rookery staff, provide excellent customer service to guests and members, enforce Rookery policies, set up and take down a variety of activities and events, host and serve rental groups, and maintain safety and security throughout the building.
Recreation Attendant
Starting Wage - $10.590 - $12.00/hourly
The Recreation Attendant position will be responsible for welcoming guests and ensuring their safety and comfort at the Rookery Activity Center. There are multiple Recreation Attendant employment opportunities available;
Rec Attendant – Waterslide Attendant
- Minimum 16yrs old
- Performs waterslide opening and closing duties as required, and follows all safety rules and regulations for riders using the waterslide.
- Keep the aquatics area clean and clear of potential safety hazards and immediately informs Aquatic Lead or Aquatics Supervisor of any issues or necessary repairs.
Rec Attendant – Birthday Party Attendant
- Greet and interact with host family and party attendees
- Move, set up, and take down tables, chairs, and decorations for birthday parties
- Move, set up, and take down equipment for parties including sports equipment, bounce house, and pool equipment
- Clean up areas used by parties
Rec Attendant – Day Camp
- Work with school-aged children enrolled in day camps when school is out of session
- Keep school-aged children entertained with planned activities, crafts, and walking field trips during camp
- Follow all camp safety protocols and report any problems or concerns to supervisor
Rec Attendant – Gym/Sports Attendant
- Enforce policies and rules of the gym
- Move, set up, and take down sport equipment
- Monitor court usage, keep score, oversee sports activities, and manage timed activities
Summer Camp Counselor
Starting Wage - $13.00 - $16.00/hourly
The Summer Camps Counselor plans, leads, and implements camp programs for children enrolled in the Rookery Activity Center Summer Camp program. Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants. Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
Swim Instructors
Starting Wage - $14.00 - $20.00/hourly
The Swim Instructor will educate participants on proper technique, promote swimmer safety and cover all material required in a swim level. They will communicate regularly with participants and their parents to ensure awareness of progress and complete progress reports. Must be able to adapt teaching approaches to participants’ age, experience, and ability so they can meet course objectives. Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations. Enjoy teaching students to swim, having fun, and giving back to the community. No experience necessary, paid training will be provided.

Custodial Worker
Starting Wage - $20.00
The Custodial Worker position will help maintain an environment that is clean, safe, and comfortable for the members at the Rookery Activity Center. This position is responsible for performing a variety of building, custodial, and general maintenance duties in a manner that assures clean, safe, and sanitary structures and facilities. Duties include dusting, polishing, and straightening furniture; vacuuming carpet, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing floors and stairwells; stocking toiletries and cleaning bathrooms.
Summer Camp Coordinator
Starting Wage - $16.00 - $21.00
The Summer Camp Coordinator is responsible to do the job duties of a counselor as well as organizing/creating activities and camp schedules, assisting in creating staff schedules, prep for field trips, and monitoring camp staff. This position will also be closely involved in defusing child behavior situations at the Rookery Activity Center
